I am a huge fan of Ray Lamontagne. His music settles my spirit and puts me in the most amazing mood. I blast it while cooking in the kitchen, while drinking a glass of red wine and most recently played the heck out his music on our road trip to Alabama. His songs are great road trip songs. He is truly an incredibly talented artist.
We are leaving for San Francisco this afternoon, so it only seems appropriate to share Judy Garland’s performance of the song San Francisco. Judy Garland is one of my favorite performers of all time. I have always been a huge Judy fan. I think if I had known her, we would have been great friends.
I will return in a week!
Hello! I am back from the lovely Costa Rica. Did you miss me? I had the most amazing time. We had so many adventures and I truly hated to leave. I will be sharing pictures and stories soon.
Bob Marley kind of became the theme music of our trip after we bought a ripped Bob Marley CD off of a local for $1.50. I have always been a huge fan his music, especially “Don’t Worry Be Happy”. It is the kind of song that really makes you feel at ease and like everything is going to be alright.
My brother recently introduced me to the music of Sally Seltmann, who has also recorded under an alias name, New Buffalo. She is from Australia, writes beautiful lyrics, and is also a poet. I think she is splendid.
I have been getting back to my Folk/Country roots here in North Carolina and have been listening to a lot of Alt-Country. I have always enjoyed the band, Monsters of Folk, I can’t help but tap my feet and smile when I hear them. I am heading back home in a couple of days and I am feeling so grateful for the time I got to spend with my Family and work on one of the most incredible projects I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. It has been a wonderful month.
I am a recent fan of the folk band, The Innocence Mission. I just don’t know how I have gotten by without hearing them thus far. They are a husband and wife duo who make dreamy melodies together. Their music is like listening to an old friend tell stories about making the world a better place, simply lovely.
